Target-enclosing inversion using an interferometric objective function

چکیده

Full waveform inversion is a high-resolution subsurface imaging technique, in which full seismic waveforms are used to infer physical properties. We present novel, target-enclosing, full-waveform framework based on an interferometric objective function. This function exploits the equivalence between convolution and correlation representation formulas, using data from closed boundary around target area of interest. Because such violated when knowledge enclosed medium incorrect, we propose minimize mismatch wavefields independently reconstructed by two formulas. The proposed method requires only kinematic model, specifically overburden for redatuming, does not require prior model below area. In this sense it truly local: sensitive parameters within chosen target, with no assumptions about or scattering regime outside target. theoretical derive gradient new via adjoint-state apply synthetic example exactly redatumed wavefields. A comparison FWI surface target-oriented theorem shows superiority our both terms quality recovery reduction computational cost.

An Interferometric ISAR System Model for Automatic Target Identification

Air-to-sea surveillance and tracking systems that provide rapid and positive identification of Non-Cooperative and Stealthy Targets (NCSTs) are connected with Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) concepts and techniques. ISAR has several shortcomings that could be dealt with the contribution of a Phase Comparison Monopulse system. This paper presents the possible output for the height dimens...

An Objective Function for Independence

The problem of separating a linear or nonlinear mixture of independent sources has been the focus of many studies in recent years. It is well known that the classical principal component analysis method, which is based on second order statistics, performs poorly even in the linear case, if the sources do not have Gaussian distributions. Based on this fact, several algorithms take in account hig...

An objective function for STDP

We introduce a weight update formula that is expressed only in terms of firing rates and their derivatives and that results in changes consistent with those associated with spike-timing dependent plasticity (STDP) rules and biological observations, even though the explicit timing of spikes is not needed. The new rule changes a synaptic weight in proportion to the product of the presynaptic firi...

Receiver Function Inversion Using Genetic Algorithms

We use a genetic algorithm to attack the receiver function inversion problem where the objective is to retrieve shear wave velocities of rock layers as a function of depth. The receiver function inversion is a non–linear, multi–modal, and multi–parameter optimization problem suited for genetic algorithms. We implement a three operator genetic algorithm consisting of selection, single–point cros...

Terahertz imaging using an interferometric array

Most methods of imaging in the terahertz ~THz! spectral region utilize either pulsed-laser sources or require the THz generation and detection sources to be phase coherent. The application of interferometric imaging to the THz range is described. Interferometric imaging offers considerable advantages in this regard due to its ability to image with only a handful of detector elements, image many...
